I am a co-moderator (pain and weight control) on the EFT Forum. Someone wrote in about menstrual cramps:

Hi,

I regularly get quite debilitating period pains on the first/second day of my menstrual cycle and I was wondering whether anyone has any ideas? What points do you find best to tap (and for general pain)? And in any particular succession?

Thanks :)

Hi,

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for bringing your question to us.

Menstrual cramps are a problem for many women.First of all, there aren't a special set of points to tap on for pain or for cramps. You use the regular set of points.

I always advise my clients to get to the emotions underneath of the pain--whenever possible. So, how do you feel about the cramps? Here are some possible set-ups phrases that you may or may not want to use. Remember, you can change the words to better suit you. Even though:

  • I have debilitating period pains on the first and second day of my menstrual cycle, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • I don't feel it is fair that I have cramps every month...I feel angry that I have to have these awful cramps every month...
  • these cramps make me wish that I wasn't a woman...
  • sometimes I hate being a woman...
  • I sometimes reject being a woman and it sure would be easier if I were a man...
  • I feel guilt about being a woman...
  • I have felt embarrassed about my periods...
  • I have believed that my genitals are dirty..

Also, use your own languaging. I am one for spicing things up with cussing. It can help to move the energy, and that is exactly what you want to do--move stuck energy.

Sharon, you can use EFT right when you are having cramps. Remember to note the intensity of the cramps before and after the tapping.

Also, see if you can remember any incidents in your "herstory" that were particularly painful about being a woman, your periods or sexuality. You can use EFT to clear the charge of those events which could make it so you won't have painful periods in the future.

Please let me know if any of this resonates with you.

In loving compassion,

JoAnn
